Changed Traffic Conditions

PLEASE HELP MAKE OUR EVENT SAFE FOR EVERYONE

The Tour de Valley event organisers have worked with the Gold Coast City Council, the Department of Transport and Main Roads and the QLD Police to ensure that planning for the event has considered all aspects related to rider and public safety.

To ensure the SAFEST possible conditions for riders, volunteers and spectators, please AVOID Currumbin Creek Road between 6.30am and 11am on event day - Sunday October 31, 2021.

 

The following roads are open for LOCAL TRAFFIC MOVEMENT ONLY from 6.30am - 11.30am (see images below) . Speed limits will be reduced to 60kph for all sections of these roads:

  • Galleon Way - Ware Drive (north) to Currumbin Creek Road

  • Currumbin Creek Road - Drumfish Drive to the end of the Currumbin Valley.

If you need to use these roads during these hours please note the following:

  • Cyclists will be travelling as individuals or as teams of up to six riders at regular intervals.

  • Cyclists will be travelling in both directions of the road.

  • Cyclists will be travelling between 30 - 50kph.

  • Traffic control will be in place at the Galleon Way/Currumbin Creek Road intersection, event start/finish area at the Elanora Community Centre on Galleon Way, Tallebudgera Connection Road/Currumbin Creek Road intersection and the Tomewin Mountain Road/Currumbin Creek Road intersection.

  • Please follow the direction of the Traffic Controllers and Police.

  • Only overtake cyclists when it is clear and safe.
